when i am driving my truck at a constant speed down the road with out cruise set my truck will surge and once and a while off the line i can push on accelerator pedal and nothing happens until it is down about an inch. now i can power past the surge but it comes back as soon as hold steady it does it in every gear and only the rpm rage 1100 to 2000 rpms. i appreciate any and all insight Thanks.

 

Try these things.
Clean you battery connections.
Perform the APPS reset procedure covered in the FAQ.

 

Both good suggestions. Disconnect the batteries, then turn the key to on, and leave the batteries disconnected for about 30 min. This will drain power from all capacitors and the computers, and give you time to clean. You may want to clean and tighten all of the grounds coming off o the batteries, too. I the APPS reset procedure does not work, then you may need to get the codes scanned to see if the APPS is bad. Good luck!

 

What year truck do you have? If it is an 01 or 02 you can cycle the key three times to the on postion with out starting the truck and read the codes off the odometer screen. The symptoms you are describing sound like a bad VP44 pump, the code for a bad injector pump is p0216.
