Strange noise under hood
Just before my "Wait to Start" light goes out on my 2000 I hear kind of a "thud" or "bump" type noise under my hood. I am thinking it's somewhere on the driver's side. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, one more thing. Are you supposed to hear any noise from the lift pump on these when the key is on? Sometimes I hear kind of a buzzing sound. I realize this is hard to diagnose without standing right by my truck but any ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Thanks. Hey, I see you have your turbo silencer ring missing like a lot of other people do. Where is this located? I have a AFE intake which makes a lot of noise, with this "ring" gone it will whistle louder?

Remove the air intake from the front of the turbo, it's the ring around the fins. You need to pry out the retaining ring with a small screwdriver first. Doesn't do anything for performance, but with it in I can't hear my turbo...too much loud music and gunfire.
