Steering "MOAN" on cold mornings?
Last couple of days its been 15-20 degrees outside when I went out in the morning to start my truck, not plugged in. It starts fine, but then you hear this noise, the best way to describe it is like a loud moaning, I`m pretty sure its something in the steering cause when I move to steering wheel it gets louder. Its loud enough where my dog looks at the floor and kinda tilts his head looking for the noise
. I drive about 10 miles to work and it does it all the way to work, and on Sunday the wife and I tooled around for a couple of hours and it was still kinda doing it when we got home(not as loud) It did this last winter and it went away as soon as it got warmer out, now I wonder if I`m hurting something, any ideas on what to look for?
thanks

Had the same problem with my '02. Switched to a synthetic power steering fluid, problem solved, even at below zero temps. The pump is moaning because the steering fluid is so thick at cold temps.
