spindle nut reuse
Hello,
I was not able to put all the way the hub seal on my 2001 dodge ram 3500 when I changed the seal and also changed the hub nut.
is it ok to reuse the newly installed hub nut if i will take the hub off to redo the seal?
The one i am changing redoing is the rear wheel dually
Thank you.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
IMHO it is fine as long as you did not use a hammer and chisel (punch) to tighten it. If so, there may be hairline cracks. If you used the correct wrench, then it should be OK.

Recommend not reusing the hub nut, when you remove it again, it damages the soft metal that is used to keep it from loosening. Those nuts are designed to only be used once. I make that mistake, and destroyed my rear-end. Was driving down the road, and suddenly my drive-side axle came completely out of the rear-end differential housing, and passed me as I pulled to the side of the road! It was a funny site, but costly!
