ive looked around on here but dont seem to find anything that describes my dads prob. when its real cold outside, his 99 CTD spews oil out on the driveway for a little while but then stops. it only does it on occassion but i thought i would ask b/c it dont sound right to me.

His truck is bone stock too.

 

What do you mean by spew. a quart? 2 drops? exon valdez? Is it comming from blow by bottle or somewhere else? Is he seeing normal oil usage between changes or is he adding a quart a week?

 

its prolly about a cup spewing out. i think it is coming from the blowby tube, at least thats what he said. he dont drive it that much but it has only done it twice and we were jus wondering what it could be and why its doin it.

 

A cup is not normal oil blow by...a few drips is and sometimes a bit more but a cup is a lot of oil. I've heard that over filling from an oil change will cause excess oil out the blow by. Perhaps the couple of times it did it was high oil level and parked on a grade...check oil level...Hard to say if it has only happened a couple of times...Monitor you oil usage and if it starts to have that much blow by regularly you could have some problems. Empty puke bottle maybe the vapors have filled the bottle and it is over flowing.
