Speed sensor

Any one have there speed sensor in the rear break alot? I loose mine 4 or 5 times a year. And im sick of goin to the salvage yard for them and buying them. Does anyone who races or pulls alot(sledpullin) loose them often. They always seem to break the night im out street racin wit my friens and do boost launches. Any help there. Is there a way to get the sensor in the trans or something other than in the rear housing?

The abs light and my parking brake light are on when it happens but it doesnt affect them. Its just the speedo dont work. Every once and a while it jumps around. Wheni pull the little sender thing out the end of its all beat up.

It's an oring seal - try using paper gasket to shim it up away from the reluctor ring 0.005" to 0.010".

When you shim it too far, the speedo will become erratic - pull the sensor and reduce the shim by 1/2.
