Simflo fuel pressure regulator

I've been fighting a leak in my Simflo fuel pressure regulator that came with my Wideopen Diesel Walbro pump kit. The leak is coming from the rubber O-ring seal area. I've tried replacing the rubber O-ring numerous time with no success. What could I be doing wrong?

sounds like the machining is not right, are surface rough, too much clearance ??

it is fixable some way.

I've taken the Simflo out a few times and inspected it but haven't found anything irregular with it. For some reason the rubber O-ring isn't sealing the threads. I assume that is what the O-ring is for...to seal the fuel from leaking out of the regulator?

Any ideas?

I got more of the o-rings from the hardware store's plumbing department. I took the old o-ring with me to make a comparison.
