Signs of a bad VP44 and LP

What are the signs of a bad VP44? HOw about a line pump.

I have basically NO power in my truck, and the CE light is on. I am geting the code reader by tomorrow, but I need ot know if I shold be looking at a new VP44 or a LP now. I have fine fuel pressure (could be better, but it is not horrible). I am geting NO smoke from the exhaust. I can floor the truck, and it is almost like Iahvea clogged fuel filter. It will NOT go. Kinda remonids me of a Gas motor with HORRIBLY bad spark plugs.

Thanks
Dima

Find out the codes first then you will know. do a search on the tps reset and try that mabey thats it.

have you tried the "key on" "key off" to check for codes? if not, do that 3 times and the 3rd time keep the key to the "on" position. look at your odometer and it will possibly spit out some codes.

Depending how many miles you have on your rig it could definently be the vp44. my lift pump was going out at 30k ( 02 quad cab ) so I ran to the dealer and they put one on. Then about 3k later it started to do the same thing (put your foot into it and nothing) so back to the dealer and on went the new VP44 so be prepaired to get bent over if your truck is out of waranty. :D

Does the truck do anything else if the VP is gone?

I will search on the reset today.

Definetly check for codes and see what comes up, if you have a code for injection circuit malfunction then chances are the VP44 has had it.........[eyecrazy]

I get the reader today, so Hopefully it is just some small sensor in the motor that can be easily replaced.

Check the fuel pressure (post filter) at the schraeder fitting

I got the P0216 code. I am trying the APPS reset right now.

Where is the cheapest palce to get the VP44 from? Does it matter where I get it from, and is there any replacements for the VP44?

TRhanks
