shudder
Re:shudder
Jack- You have the shudder at a certain speed no matter if under load or neutral or coasting?
And did it start when you had your tranny done? Maybe it is the driveshaft vibratingdue to not being alligned correctly.
Or simply some wheel that needs balancing..

AlpineRAM

I don't see any issue with the weights on the wheels but who knows? It was fine when I had the tranny done. It's weird because it didn't start until 4 months after installing the tranny.
Re:shudder
If it's at 40 mph I don't think that it should come from the tires- at least mine starts the shudder at about 60 mph when I've got a wheel out of balance.

If you can rule out the driveshaft balance ( as we may assume that you don't have dwarves who will turn your driveshafts relative positions at night ;D )
you could look for clearance issues down there. Look for play in the U-joints and in the rear axle. Try to turn the driveshaft with the parking brake set and the tranny in neutral. you shouldn't have much play there. And try to shake it to feel whether there is some play.

HTH

AlpineRAM
Re:shudder
I did check play a while back and the shaft is super tight. It doesn't have any play when I try to turn it, and it doesn't shake or anything. Everything seems pretty solid down there unless there is something I'm missing.
Re:shudder
Now I am starting to wonder about something. It seems that when I have a passenger in the truck it does not shake as bad, if at all. Could the cab mounts be loosening up?

Re:shudder
Welp,

Found out that the left rear rim is bent, and the wheel won't balance for squat. It looks like a shaking machine on the wheel balancer. As soon as he tried the tire on a different rim, it was fine. Axle is straight, drive shaft is fine. Now the bad part, Dodge wants $400.00 per rim on these things. Is it me, or is that price absolutely insane?!!?!?!

Re:shudder
Jack its majorily high. Then again a ******* has everything overpriced. Just the other day I wanted a 24 valve cover so I could send mine to Northwest Customs. Chrysler wants 276.00. Cummins wants 118.00 gee only 158.00 in difference.
Re:shudder
Too bad Cummins doesn't stock rims.

When I was in getting my fuel filter, they guy at the counter said to check with him for "any" parts before getting them from the dealer.
He said about the only engine parts they don't stock are the fan belts (becuase of AC) and the dipstick tube.

phox
