Service manual question...
Service manual question...
Gents,<br><br>I was looking into get a service manual for my '99 from Techauthority.com and was wondering if any of ya'll got the diagnostic manuals as well?? And if you did are they worth getting? The only ones I wa thinking about getting was the powertrain manual and possibly the quad-cab body and chassis manuals, they aren't expensive and might be kinda handy... Thoughts? <br><br>https://techauthority.gltghosting.co...stic%20Manuals<br><br>Thanks,<br>
Re:Service manual question...
Don't know about service manual in question, but every thing<br>I have heard is go with the factory service manual. It will be<br>the best $100 you ever spent. Hope this helps.
Re:Service manual question...
Yes, I have the "Diagnostic Manuals" along with the service. They're not what I expected, but are still helpful. Basically, they refer to a "P" code, and walk you thru the steps to determine whats causing the trouble. They're are also non-P code issues to like inoperative door locks, things like that. You'll find connector pinouts and wire colors too. If you've dropped a C note on the service manual, a few more isn't going to matter. ;D. I believe they're in paper form only. I debated on whether to get the service manual on CD. Searching functions are excellent with the CD, but the monitor cord won't reach to the "reading room" :
so I got the paper manual instead.
