I reset my apps last night because my truck was hunting for gears (I need to do this every now and then).
I got up this morning to go to work,. and when the "wait to start" was done (I don't think I heard the vp44 prime..but wasn't really listening), I cranked it and it didn't start (it usually starts in 1/10th of a second).. So I stopped cranking, bumped it and waited for the vp44 to come on (I can hear it) and then started it. But in 200,000 miles I don't think my computer has ever failed to tell my vp44 to prime when the "wait" light comes on. Is this a one-time freak occurrence? I guess I will know when it's time to come from from work. By the way,.. the VP44 is a replacement by dodge a long time ago under warranty,. and I have ran stanadyne (or equivalent) in every tank since then. I run a block heater all winter (including today). Thanks if anybody has any ideas.,

 

It's been ok since then. I'm going to assume I was half asleep and thought the "wait" light came on and went off when it really hadn't got to that point yet.

 

If the engine isn't running you are not hearing anything from the VP44. You may hear the lift pump running but that Injection pump only turns when the engine does
