Radiator filling the surge tank, overflows

Hello
I have having some trouble with my 01.
I was coming home from the dump and my truck started running on the warm side of the gauge. I stopped and bought a new thromostat, the next morning I started the job and the surge tank was filled to the top, opened the radiator and it was down a good ways. I changed the thromostat, filled the rad and drained the surge tank to half way between full/add and went for a test drive. Came back and the surge tank was full again. Figured well it will go back in the rad when it cools, next morning still full. I figured the rad cap wasn't working correctly, bought a new one, same problem.

Now I am thinking I have a blocked up radiator where it can't flow through the passages and is flowing along the top and out the rad overflow tube into the surge tank. I am about ready to pull the radiator and try and clean it or find a radiator shop and take it and have it cleaned.

Anyone else have this type of problem?

I don't have bubbles in the radiator with the engine running.
The engine oil looks fine, no coolant in there either.
I drained and flushed the cooling system in 2005 and was figuring on doing it again in a couple of months.

Thank you

See Ya
Chris

You might have a restricted rediator. Have a test for exhaust gases in radiator done by rediator shop. Sure sounds like a leaking head gasket.
