Programer and batteries?

I'm thinking I need to "reset/ relearn" my apps (surges while driving). By the battery disconect procedure, and was wonedering if I need to take my hypertech program off if I'm taking the negitive terminals off.

No,
Removing the battery cables will not erase the tuning.

? I do know that with a smarty it is recommended to take the software off if you unhook batteries so I dont know how much diff your tuner is. IMO I would put it back to stock. it dosn't take long and atleast you would know for sure there is not going to be problems

I was thinking might need to take the program off, but I'm sure it's not real good to reprogram the computer to many times. What oppinions do you all have?

I certainly don't know anything about ECM programming, but it would seem to me that it wouldn't make a difference what you have the ECM flashed with--you should be able to disconnect the batteries all you like without harm.

Whether stock software is stored in the ECM or aftermarket, the effects of disconnecting and reconnecting the batteries is the same.

its simply cheap insurance to return it to stock and takes 5 minutes. It is not going to harm the ECM to reprogram the computer 1000 times. all it is is data transfer and the data can not be lost as there is no way for it to get a virus or anywhere for it to go.

You have a very good point, I didn't think of it that way.
