Problems with code p1689 CAN ANYONE HELP ME !!!
 

Hi I'am new to this web site. I have 2001 dodge cummings 2500. The problem that I'am having is with the code p1689. When the code showed up the first time I checked all the wire conctions form IP to ECM they where good. Then I replaced the IP and the truck ran fine for about two weeks. I was driving on the freeway and my truck went into limb mode and I hade no pedal (dead pedal). I unpluged my edge copm chip and the code went away. The next day I took the chip down to edge and they replaced the chip for free. The truck ran fine for about three more weeks then last night I started my truck and the rpms ran up 1500 buy it's self and the check engine light came back on. I reset it with my scan tool and it has not retured. If anybody has any sugestions I would like to here them. Thank you for your time Kalib.

2001 Dodge with the eage bb jammer tubro as the primeary and a E7-350 tubro for the secondary tubro 4" exhaust a edge comp box and a airomotive lift pump

I would suspect the Edge if it does it again unplug the edge and see if it goes away if it does take the edge back. I have since changed to the Smarty box for all my custs.

Who makes the smarty box and how much dose it cost and will it proudce the same power as the edge comp box? I also forgot to tell you that I have a chip for a 2002 on 2001 and the wiring harnisse has an adapter that I got from edge for the map sensor. Do you that the I should buy a new harrnisse for a 2001?
