Power steering problem

I just had my power steering pump and vacum/hydraulic pump replaced and now there is a noise like air leaking when i accelerate, has anyone else had this problem or can shed some light in what is going on? I talked to the dealership where the work was done but they are stumped. It doesn't effect the steering and power brakes at all, just annoying when it didn't make the noise before the parts were replaced.

I'm wondering if they might have knocked one of your intercooler boots off. Do you have a boost guage?

Or forgot to hook up one of the vacuum lines. Chech the cluster of vacuum lines by the intake horn. If one of them is unhooked it will suck air and either your heater vents wont open and close properly or your 4wd wont engage.

The vacuum pump doen't assist the power brakes or the power steering. Even though they mount together they dont actually work in conjunction. The vacuum pump is gear driven by the motor and the power steering unit sits piggy back on the vacuum pump. There is a coupler between them that drives the power steering pump. So conceivably, you could have power brakes and steering without vacuum.

Thank you for your help, I found a loose clamp from the air cooler to the intake manifold, so I think that I eliminated the problem on the air leak. I also have a pwr steering leak that i am trying to isolate, had to add fluid again so I am keeping an eye on it, once I find it, we will be visiting the dealer service dept and getting that fixed. Once again thank you for the information.
