P0230 code with a mechanical pump....

Just curious if this code (LP out of range) is going to be a permanent code from now on since I am running a Fuel Boss mechanical pump? I have tried to clear it but it still keeps popping up, what do I need to do to get rid of it or must I just live with it?

needs a relay or resistor across the lift pump circuit, ECM monitors volts in that circuit. Not sure about ohm value but someone will chime in with resistor value. Or you can check relay control circuit 85 and 86 on any relay which is usually between 50 to 90 ohms.

Thanks for your help, when it comes to electrical stuff that is my weak point. You said a resistor or a relay....Does a relay have a certain amount of resistance already? So can I just locate the relay in the fuse box under my hood and replace it with either a resistor or a relay? Any chance I could use a spare relay that is already in my fuse box?

I'm not sure where the stock relay is and may not even be one...

Basically a relay is a switch that is triggered by a low voltage source (signal from ECM) and creates a connection between a higher voltage, such as is needed for powering your LP, which is probably 12v. This protects the lower voltage item, ECM, from getting zapped.

The relay would connect to the connector plug that went to electric transfer pump on the engine or resistor of equal value. That will fool the ECM that fuel pump is connected to circuit.
