p0216 code?

Just going out on a limb here, but does this code maybe sometimes have anything to do with the APPS sensor? My truck had no power or acceleration yesterday. It ran fine but no go, kind of like the pedal wasnt going to the floor. EGTs and boost were not moving up nearly as fast as usual.

Am I just wishful thinking? Or could I have a APPS problem instead of pump failure? Thanks all, Bret

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but that code mean fuel injection pump timing failure. Basicly you VP is shot

I had the same problems....but it was intermittant...The dealer replaced the VP44 under warranty yesterday......this was the code I got.

i got that code on my 98.5 . the lift pump was dead truck ran like you said put on a holley blue and it runs fine now you might have caught in time not sure

yeah I just took her for a little 2 mile ride and its running normal today. I guess its the vp for sure. It was fairly warm out yesterday, 88* and its cool this morning. I suppose the electronics overheated yesterday. Hopefully it will last over this weekend, its supposed to be pretty warm all weekend.
Thanks guys, Bret

Well Im getting decent pressure til I go WOT. But I would imagine its the VP. Oh well I will for sure get a Scotty or Vulcan kit when I replace the VP-44.

Just an FYI, I run a pusher pump to my stock lift pump with an idle pressure of 22 psi, which is more than enough for lube and cooling, but I still lost my VP$$, but the hard start issue from bad electronics was my problem. Hopefully the new electronic upgrades will resolve that issue. Good Luck
