Oil Filter Substitution
Had local cummins store get me replacement for existing # LF3894.
They ordered and sold me the replacement. Did not realize till I had twin tubes apart, oil drained and old filter removed that they sold me a LF3972.
OD of housing is identical, O-ring is identical.... fit perfectly!
Sinc it was late yesterday and all stores were closed, I installed the different # filter and ran it for 10 min to watch closley. No weaks, pressure was good. Drives fine??
Anyone know if I'm OK with different filter? What do 4 digit numbers mean?
