No power from Trans
 

Hey, I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Auto, and the trans is not giving any "power" to the wheels (sorry i don't really know how to explain it any better" but my brother and I were driving it the other day and it started acting funny, so we kept driving it and the revs started going up and the speed went down, so the trans basically stopped shifting and giving power to the wheels but when you would turn the truck off and back on it would act almost normal for around 3 minutes then do it again, I'm newer to Cummins and the 47res so I don't really know what to do, if you guys have any solutions please let me know since my college is starting soon, thank you

Trans fluid color/smell?
Last time the trans fluid was changed (with filter) and the bands adjusted?
