New VP44

Apparently I have had a bad lift pump since I bought my truck a year ago (with a brand new vp44 and lift pump). The new lift pump that the previous owner put on was terrible. Anyways i am shopping for new injection pump. I have looked around on sites such as industrial injection and I am just wondering what the advantages to buying a "hot rod pump" would be.

I have a pretty much stock truck. BHAF and straight piped. But i am considering adding some power in the future from a programmer and maybe some injectors but not much more than that. Would a performance pump be necessary for my minimal needs???

I've heard some guys on here praise the hrvp44 and others say it's not worth the extra money, $500-600 over a standard vp44.

read this,

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t=hot+rod+vp44

and read this,

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t=hot+rod+vp44

read through both of those and then make your decision. I did see on here a guy was making 902hp off a 24v with a hrvp44. But most of what I read said keep the standard vp and spend the $700 on some good injectors and if you decide to downgrade to stock again you can find injectors pretty easily and sell off the good injectors easier than swapping vp's.
