New FP and Fuel Pressure Gauge, questions.

I'm not sure where how they mounted it. I can see a line comming of the fuel filter going towards where the gauge is located.

What kind of numbers should I be seeing?

Post fileter?

Pre filter?

The gauge is a Stewart Werrner.

I currently am seeing what appers to be around 10 at idle, 8-9 at 70mph and around 6 when I put my foot in it.

Will the psi go up when I change my fuel filter?

Thanks,
cjthor

It may, you may need a new filter. Change it and keep an eye on it to make sure that you don't need a new LP.

I am guessing that the fuel pump and lift pump are not the same.

What all is involved in getting the fuel from the tank to the engine.

Lift pump to fuel pump to injection pump to engine?

The injection pump would be the VP44?

On my truck, which should be in sig, where is the lift pump?

I am conserned about the fuel pressure gauge not reading any higher than 10 psi at idel. The fuel pump is new as of Tuesday.

Any help would be great.

Tank --> Lift Pump --> Injection Pump (VP44)
...................................^
.............................FP gauge

The filter is between LP and IP. Your gauge could be
on either side of the filter.

10psi here should be generally ok. Some like a little more. You're not monitoring the
injection pump pressure, which would be gobs.
