I keep getting a code p0253 inj pump fuel valve open circuit. Happens when cold truck usually sits for a week. Got a new injection pump on less than 6 mths. Fass fuel system with 12 psi and enough volume. Check battery's, ground, and connections. Ran diag for this code out of manual and nothing.
Think I have a injection pump going bad? Any idea would be helpfull. Oh, no mods to fuel system, ie no box, etc. Truck is a 98.5.

 

i got that code on an 02 after a bum reflash
spent $1600 on a vp for nothin
never could get the truck fixed right

 

Thanks agades for the info. You got the wheels spinnning on that one. Forgot all about have the 3/3 idle flash done this fall. It's possible, truck only gets this code when cold out side. When in the heated garage, no code, drive all day no check engine light. Truck has a date with the dealership on Monday to try and get to the bottom of it. Will post results when I get them. I'f anyone else has an idea please post it.

 

Well just to let everyone know, p0253 I guess is another sign of the vp going dead. Dealership replaced it today. Lets see 1 vp and lp in june 3 lp since another vp, hmmmm. Well have fass on now, hope this will help. On a brighter note found dealership that actually cares enough to help, and the said what Fass we don't see that. All is good for now.
