MAP Sensor Problems?

Well just got done installing the new VP44 and truck runs great with no check engine light. My problem is that my TST powermax is not doing its job and adding more fuel, the boost light on the controller doesnt even come on (normally always lit), the boost light tells you that the MAP connection is good, but I have no light. So is my problem more than likely the MAP sensor or the TST comp itself? Again the truck runs and drives normal with no check engine light.
Thanks in advance.

Is there anyway to test the MAP sensor to check if its bad?

Well I finally got to give it a good test drive, with new VP, and there is a flat spot spot in the power. When I put my foot to the floor it pulls hard to 2500rpm then power drops off pretty bad for about a second then pulls up to redline but not quite as hard. Could this problem be MAP sensor related?

By the way, the Edge EZ and TST comp are both unplugged.

The best way would be to measure.. or watch the voltage from the MAP.. I have a Edge Comp.. and the harness that runs inside includes the wires for the MAP.. I have measured and watched this voltage. (using a Voltmeter) both going in and out of the box. If you can find a scanner you should also be able to watch this voltage...
One last thing... since you were running a TST/EZ.. do you still have the boost elbow installed?? With the EZ/and TST unplugged w/elbow installed you can probably build enough boost to tell the ECM to defuel... (Just a thought... )
Good Luck,
Bryan

No problem.. its easiest to do it at the box.. (your EZ) because its easy to get the to connector.. I just check the voltage at the wires going into the box.. (EZ).. and the voltage going out... I checked this when my Comp went out once... I was getting voltage in from the MAP.. but nothing coming out.. going to the ECM... I don't remember the issue of TDR.. but they posted the voltage/pressure relationship in the book.. I'll look for the numbers... Only thing about the EZ.. is if we want to drive it.. we'll have to tape the meter to the window..
Bryan

Edit: I found this.. I used to have the voltages for higher pressures...
Don't know the resistance values but I do have the voltage output values. Sensor input is 5v.

Boost Voltage
0 1.045
6 1.48
10 1.75
15 2.05
18 2.27
20.5 2.44

Hey, I'm a Red-Neck.....it won't bother me!

Speaking of boost, my truck starts to defuel at about 2200 psi reguardless of the setting the EZ is on. Is that normal with the boost elbow?

If its not defueling until 2200psi.. I'm going to sell my Comp and get an EZ... ... (2200rpms or 22 psi??) I'm guessing you have the boost elbow in.. and that the EZ is hooked up to the MAP?? I don't have a Comp harness to fit your truck.. if I did we could hook it up and see if that helps... Do you know if anyone else coming has an EZ??? (that fits 98.5-2000) Just to swap out the box...
One last question.. do you know if you can unplug the EZ from the harness??? Memory tells me you cann't... If not we will have to measure the voltage at the sensor... It sounds like the EZ may not be adjusting the MAP voltage...

2200! What a dummy!

No, the EZ harness is hardwired. I'm sure someone will have an EZ.......

And, hey, NO COMP on my truck! I can't afford the Bomb Bug.
