lp wont hold prime
lp wont hold prime
Just intalled a fpg recentley and now my lift pump won't hold its prime. I bled and re-bled the system but still no dice. Turn the ignition on and I'm at less then a lb. I'm gettin an airdog a lil later and I have just been bumpin the starter to get the lift pump to kick on then wait til fuel pres comes up before I start it....so my question is will hurt the vp? Is it a simple fix, something I should take care of asap or would I be safe to wait for the airdog?

maybe the system does not work as you conceive.
Engine running and you should have 10 psi or more at IP banjo fitting.
Shut engine down and pressure quickly drops to zero.
Turn the ign to run and the LP runs perhaps a couple seconds and pressure rises to perhaps 5 psi or less. this sort of flushes system.
Go to start position on key and pressure should be 5-7 psi during cranking. When engine starts pressure should quickly rise to the former 10 psi or greater. During cranking the computer duty cycles the LP in order to keep from over pressure to VP44. Hope this helps. During bump crank you should get 10 psi also for about 25 seconds.

Key on no pres. Bump to start pres jumps to 10 and slowly falls. If I don't bump the starter and wait a few seconds it won't fire. 10-11lbs at idle.from time to time it will drop as low as 3 on startup but only for a split second. Cruizin around at 65-70 stays about 8-9lb. I don't ever go WOT cause it can't keep up wit the edge

Have you replaced the fuel filter lately.
There have been issues with OEM lift pump in which one or more vanes stick and can't pump. Vane unsticks from centrifical force and starts pumping again.
