lower ball joint passenger side 2002- 2500 ram
 

I'm replacing the tie rod ends and ball joints on a 2002 dodge ram 2500 4x4
Can anyone tell me how to get the pass. side lower ball joint out? Does it take a special tool?
I got the 23pc. kit from Carquest but there is no adpt. that works on this ball joint. Seems that the tool needs to cut at an angle.

Help?

Had the same problem a while back. $120 kit and still nothing fit it. I think I used a big socket and a big hammer , or it might have been a piece of pipe to span the joint. A lot of yellin helps!

not sure about your year specifically, but on my '99 i have to cut the ball joint apart then use a press to remove the part left in the knuckle..

that's the kit I used on my truck..
still had to cut the bottom one apart...

I used lots of anti-seize on all the parts during reassembly..maybe next time it'll be easier..

Wish me luck, I'm starting this project Friday, ball joints, inner and out tie rods, track bar and hub bearing assembly. All moog parts and Timken bearings. 138k on the clock with bad outer side tire wear.
