low power on 2001 ram 24v

hi

a friend asked me to check his truck, he says that he is low on power when towing his boat

2001 ram 3500 dual cummins 24 v

139000 miles

new air filter , new fuel filter , no water in fuel
no smoke , no fault codes

i ear the turbo boosting at low rpm but dont know the pressure that he is boosting

so if someone can help me that would be appreciated

can you hear the turbo singing at higher boost? some of the wastegate actuators have been known to stick. check the linkage.

I don't recall if this throws a code, but if the truck goes over 20psi boost, the ecm will de fuel the engine due to this over boost condition. That = one dog of a truck. I fixed this problem by putting in a Catcher program in the ecm. That over rides the defueling thing alltogether. now at 33psi boost, she flys!

Uh.. neat fix. But, HOW can a "Catcher program" be programed into the ecm??

It is that easy. plug it in and download one of the ten available programs.
