leak

The bottom of my bellhousing is leaking something. It is fluid. I at first thought it was fuel but it isnt. It almost seems like a thin oil. Could that be the Transmission leaking? It looks like it it coming from clutch area.

If its not oil or fuel its, the front seal on the tranny. Im not shure if the standards have an inspection plate like the autos, but if there is 3 small bolts holdin a little paice on the bottom of your bell housing take them out and youll be able to tell whats goin on.

dslrob, I know what plate your talking about. I had it on the lift and there is no inspection plate. I may take a sample and then check my tranny fluid to see if it is consistant. It doesnt feel like motor oil, not sure what it is.

That's the clutch slave cylinder leaking, how's the clutch master cylinder reservoir level, I bet it's low on fluid.

I will check on the clutch cylinder tonight. The boot that comes from the truck to the side of the tranny is not leaking. When you push the pedal, this hose or whatever it is goes into the side of the tranny, that is what I am talking about. That piece is not leaking. It looks like it is coming from the clutch area. I will check the fluid level tonight.
