Junk Carter Lift Pumps
 
Listen to this my old lift pump finally died but it carried 14 to 10 psi with big fuel line kit put my new one on yesterday it started out carring about the same fuel pressure idled at about 14 to 15 psi with it flat on the floor about 10 psi i come home move some trailer around and noticed it was about 12 to 13 psi and i can drop it down to about 7 to 8 psi on the floor [verymad] was the first pump a good one or is this one junk what are some of your guys fuel pressure reading. what can i do with out buying a f.a.s.s. i am on a tight budget thank you for any replys :D

i run holley blue pumps on both of my trucks and have real good luck out of them put a new one ont he 98 and have about 35k on it since nov.

Another option is to run a Carter 4600 on the frame rail that puts out 8psi. My factory LP was dropping in pressure - was 9psi idle and 5 psi WOT. Put on the Carter pusher and the pressure holds steady 14psi idle/9psi WOT for about a year now, even with the failing factory pump still on.

I replaced a working pump for a new one that shows the same exact numbers you describe. They are hit and miss, only reason I even went and got the new one is beacuse someone here claimed 18 idle, couldn't drag it below 15 WOT.
