Intermittent No Start

On my 01, sometimes it will start fine and sometimes it will just give one click, sometimes will get a couple of clicks. Think the batteries are fine, what else could be the problem??

first clean your cable connections and do a volt check with a good DVOM. Check the charging volts and cranking volts, then do a load test. If one battery is marginal, replace them both as a set. Remember, winter is comming and you need all the cranking power you can get.

Had a similar problem and it turned out to be the contacts in the starter. Got replacements, from a starter rebuild shop near by, for 5$. Never had another problem. That was on my 96. Haven't had any problems with the starter on my 99 yet, although I did have the crankshaft position sensor go out which also caused a no start situation but, I got no click with that failure.
