So everything I read says the HY35 has a hard metal line from the housing to the wastegate.

Correct so far?

Digging around under the hood of my "new to me" truck and start looking closely at the turbo. There is a rubber hose to the wastegate. Hold on though....it is not a HX35 (at least based on the pictures I have seen on here). The rubber hose is about 2 inches long, and is on what appears to be two metal nipples. One on the housing and one on the wastegate. So......

What gives? Is it a modified HY, jury rigged HY, something else?

Does anybody have a pic of an HY they can post? I will try to get a pic of mine tomorrow when it is light outside....

i think you need to crush the metal line with some channel lock's

 

I don't have the metal line, which you may have noticed in my first post.

 

mine has the wastegate metal line going directly to the compressor housing and i have the same truck.maybe somebody swapped out the turbo for an hx35,that would be sweet
