How warm is too warm?
Yesterday towing my 3500 lb dump trailer at 69 mph, my temperature was sitting at about 1/8 inch over the 90 Celsius (194 F) indicator (straight up). The air temp was 32 Celsius (90 F) and about 65% humidity. The a/c was on wide open and I had slight headwind. EGT's were 900 and I was running about 8 lbs of boost. The front of the trailer is low and its a square front, I've relocated the puke bottle and cleaned & flushed the rad. I could hear the fan cutting in as well. I'm thinking of getting a TT and don't want to get to Michigan and have a trailer I can't tow on the highway. I tried towing in 3rd but that made no difference.
Any ideas? |
Did the fan bring it back down to temp?
I need to remove/relocate the puke bottle and clean my rad. I see temps about 1/8" over center pulling our 7000lb TT in the rockies or anytime the AC is running pulling on flat land. Once I hear the fan kick on within a few minutes it's back down to temp and the fan shuts off, hence my lack of a relocation and cleaning job. Good luck. |
all your temps are normal. the fan was going on and off most likely because of the A/C
