Holley blue pumps (more info/caution)
Holley blue pumps (more info/caution)
I have had 4 holley blue pumps in my truck over the past 3 years, I know doh! I put one in it (warranty) a month or so ago and have notice that after alot of rain and our rutted and puddled up hunting lease road, my fuel pump has been acting up. After a few deep puddles (pump submerged) that my low fuel pressure light glows dim, and the pump doesnt sound the same. I still have one of the others and took it apart this morning, its full of refuse and the commutator ring the brushes ride on is worn and easy .040! This pump has no seal, o-ring, sealant or otherwise to keep the water out of the pump motor. I don't see how they can reccomend mounting this jewel outside the vehicle seems that with alot of wet weather you would eventually have problems. Just a word of caution..
noisey...an understandable point made however I don't believe Holley intended for the pumps to be submerged in water/mud. To help your situation, apply some rtv sealant or get a new gasket for the bottom of the pump. zero issues w/the holley blue for 2+ years....good luck.
You are correct about that, but I spoke with them today for a moment at holley. I was told that the blue pump was not meant for diesel and should not have been warrantied, I know some people have used them with success.
