Hmmmmm.....

Hey, I have the new Injector pump in, but have not seen an increase of power or fuel mileage . Do these pumps require a break-in time, or was my pump just not all that whacked out ? Isn't the timeing done with the computer and not by an adjustment at the pump ? If an Edge EZ goes bad, will it imitate an IP pump going out ? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm getting a little bummed . Fuel pressure with a new lift pump is 13 at idle, 10 at normal highway speeds and 8 during banzai runs .

What kind of mileage were you seeing before the IP swap and what kind are you seeing now??

When my IP went, and there was no question about it, I didn't notice a change in my fuel mileage after the swap and didn't expect too. I got 20 when I had a bad IP and still got 20 afterwards even with mods.

As for a "brozen" EZ mimicing a failing IP, I don't think it would. What was the genesis for you swapping pumps??

For what it is worth..... I just bought a 98.5 24V and found the LP bad. Performance was less than what it should have been also. Put in a walbro and expected (hoped) to see performance return... it didn't I was begining to think it was the VP too! I got to looking and found the waistgate actuator diaphram leaking Read a lot of post, and tech articals and fixed it with a spring from the hardware store Runs much better for now (key word).

I got two codes ( p1698 and p0213 ), the dealer said it was bad and needed replacing . Talked to my mechanic and he said it was probably bad but might last a year or go out the next time I started my truck . I thought to replace it at a time of my choosing instead of on a trip or something . Murphy's Law ya know .
