Hiding Codes ??
I've had a check engine lite on for a month cause of a 0112 code(i know what it is) and a 1693 code on both PCM & ECM. I've tried to clear it with a buddies Snap-on scanner with no luck.
My question is can a 1693 hide a code? cause my fuel pressure has dropped to 0psi @ WOT and I dont have a 0216 code. Does this mean the LP is on its way out(3rd time) and the IP is soon to follow ?? I've email both DC and Cummins about this 3rd LP BS and only Cummins came back with a sort-of-a answer, but basically wants to wait until I get an answer from DC cause its still under warranty. thx 4 any info |
That's what the 1693 code is, telling you there's a code in either the PCM or ECM that isn't showing up.
Quite often, it can only be seen with the Dodge DRB Scantool, not any off the shelf code reader, as it is the only one that is made specifically to communicate with both the Chryser PCM and Cummins ECM. phox |
Thx Phox thats what I thought I have to go back to the dealership (which i dont have a great repour with) to read both computers, most likely I have a 0216 code in there ....3rd time. I'm gonna wait on a response from DC b4 I go in. thx again
