Help....D60 Questions
I have a D60 front axle out of a '98 cummins 4x4 that I'm wanting to use as a leaf sprung axle. It looks like the axle came from the factory with leaf perches, but I need to know how to use them for a leaf sprung axle. The drivers side perch is built into the pig and I need to know how the inside of the drivers side leaf is to be held down? How do I add studs? Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Ryan

If it is out of a 98 it did not come with leaf spring perches. What you see may be a pad for the bump stop. If you want to use leaf springs on that axle you will have to weld new spring perches to it.
Pinkston, I wondered if they couldn't be bump stops, but to be honest, I never double checked it. These so called perches are almost the perfect width to be for leaf springs. How were the dodge d60 leaf sprung axles set up? How wide were the perches? If you go outside the pig with perches, they seam like they will be to wide without offsetting the spring shackles outside the frame rails? Any advice?
Thanks,
Ryan
