Heater motor quit, air bag light came on and engine misfires...

Doh. So we were waiting in line for the drive in last night in our '01 2500 with the AC on, when all of a sudden the blower motor stops working on all speeds, the air bag light comes on and about 30sec later the engine starts to stumble and miss. I baby it out of the line up and pull over and shut it off. I have a mechanical pressure gauge at the VP inlet and it shows zero. The previous owner installed an edge controller, a Holley blue pump and big lines. Normally I hear the Holley run whenever the key is on, but now it runs for about 2-3 seconds and stops.

I will check voltages tonight, but do you think its the Holley crapping out or maybe the ECM???

FASS, AirDog, or another Holley (blue or black maybe) if the pump is bad?????

check the codes, also low voltage can do that, is the alt. charging? also unplug the Edge see if it that

I checked the voltmeter in the dash at the time and I'm pretty sure it read at the 12:00 o'clock position which I think is around 14volts.

I checked it out a bit more tonight and there was a 30A Ignition Run fuse blown in the panel under the hood. I read two codes: P1693 and P0216. After disconnecting the wires to the Holley pump and attaching a battery directly to it, the pump does not run. I assume its NFG, so what should I replace it with?

I have a Fass hpfp that replaces the stock with a better pump been on 5 years now no problem

What are the chances that the VP is OK? It ran rough for about 1min while I pulled out of line and parked and then I shut the truck off. Any way to know if its good other than putting a new LP on it and trying it out???

Update...

Well, I bit the bullet and bought an AD150. Installed it, cleared the P216 fault code and took her for a test drive. Everything seems ok. Time will tell if the dreaded 216 comes back. (fingers crossed)

a 216 can be caused by a failed LP, as the VP is fuel starved it will introduce air which can be compressed resulting in the VP being unable to reach its desired timing, which in turn triggers a code (or so I've read)
