glacier diesel fuel boss

just finished installing an airtek fuel pump and a fuel boss mechanical fuel pump. The fuel boss was a huge pain to install, but the truck is consistently running 20psi throughout the fuel system!

Six,

They have a bracket that mounts to the front of your oil pan and a pulley that goes on your crank. The fuel boss mounts to the bracket and then the belt connects the crank and fuel boss. It's a slick setup. Actually it's the only thing on my truck at the moment.

Rooter,

Just make sure your belt tension is right. Very loose. When I look at mine I can't believe it, 3/4 to inch of play. Don't want to load that pump shaft at all.

I understand that they are great fuel pumps, and the only fuel pump that actually "increases" the fuel pressure as the engines demand for fuel increases. I cant speak on reliability since there isn't a lot of guys running the Fuel Boss.

I have had the fuel boss on my truck for two years now. I installed it as a stand alone with NO electronic pump as an auxiliary. The install was not that difficult and the results are outstanding. When the truck is running, fuel is being supplied, PERIOD. No more electronic CRAP for me. They are available right here in the DTR store.

I've had mine on for almost a year and it has been great. Always has 15-18 psi fuel pressure. I ran it as a primary system, and use the in tank as a back up. I have an extra belt and relief valve in the glove box, just in case, but haven't needed anything yet. So far, so good.

did you get the belt from Glacier Diesel, or did you get it elsewhere?

I get mine from Glacier, easier, just pick what you need order and forget about it. I thought about checking around and trying to find a local supplier but I've got better things to do.

I bought most items through them including the extra belt and relief valve. I did get some fittings locally because I upgraded the feed line to 1/2". Also I got a 1/2" pick-up for the tank from a different supplier, and used the 3/8" Fuel Boss tank pick-up as a return.

now, my fuel pressure gauge went bad! is the senser usually the culprit? I still have power to the gauge (light), but have not tracked down the problem yet. It's an autometer
