gearbox bolt size

hey can i use thinner bolts on that. i did not have enough room when i heli coiled it to use the correct size bolts. is it dangerous to use thinner bolts or should i just buy a new one

????????? Sorry, everyone must be as unable to figure what you have. Are you speaking of engine front cover?
What is a thinner bolt?? smaller or shorter.
Whatever you are talking about, get a orginal sized bolt if can make it fit now.

well it is the same lenth just one size thinner and it's the gearbox bolts

The steering gear! O'K
Thinner is not acceptable. Stronger and longer may be acceptable. Steering gears must be retained solid to frame.

thx. will napa still take that as a core even though you can't put the stock size bolts in. if not where is the best place to get a reman gearbox for around 200.
