Gauges on the dash don’t work
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins. The gauges no longer work after having the truck in the shop and where it shows the miles it is showing no bus now. Any info on this would be great thanks in advance

Well if it's a diesel .. the ECM does not talk to the instrument cluster.. and on a gasser it would be the PCM talking to the cluster (short for the instrument cluster containing all the gauges on the dash)
First suggestion- run away from this shop-
Second: get a factory service manual and find out where they (insert appropriate expletive) up.- fix that.

I did run from the shop that did it and refuse to refer anyone to them. It is a diesel and I have been told the cluster is bad but I don’t see the cluster being bad and taking out the ac as well. I was told that the body control module could be bad.

Well, on those vehicles it's like that: No bus means the modules can not communicate. So they also can not actuate (turn on or turn off your AC..) .
The possible reasons are that either one of the modules is bad and does not communicate or that the wiring is damaged/unplugged/corroded etc.
You can throw a lot of new parts on to this problem and by installing a new expensive module fixing the fault that the old module was unplugged.
What did the shop do (or better what was the reason the truck was in the shop?)

I've seen trucks with this issue before. It's quite possible it just happened coincidentally while it was at the shop. Have seen bad connections do it, and cold solder joints on the cluster. Try reseating the connectors on the cluster, also maybe spray them with some contact cleaner, then blow them dry with compressed air. Try the same with all the controller connectors, and any of the main connectors under the hood and dash. Its a good idea too, to disconnect the batteries before you do this.

Well, the ECM is mounted very near the engine mounted LP....but as stated it doesn't run the dash panel...the pcm is behind the air cleaner on the firewall...Disconnect batteries and unplug, clean and plug back in the 3 connectors would be a good place to start....
