fuel return line ??

Has anyone had an issue with a cracked fuel return line ?? I've got fuel running out from the rear d/s corner of my engine. It appears to be coming from above the "T" fitting and it doesn't appear to be under pressure.I'm thinking it's a cracked return line but they're such a bear to get to,I don't want to tear it off just on an assumption unless I have to.
I just changed the lift pump and all of the sudden, the truck quit.I bled the line all the way to the injection pump, and then I saw this leak. Now,the truck wont start.I'm thinking it's bleeding the lines out and not building pressure to "push" through the injectors.

Any thoughts ??

It's on my 2000 24valve.

Thanks in advance.

If it is the return line it will still start, check the return fitting on the back of the head(17mm). Double check your work maybe it is sucking air, did you replace the 4 washers when you replaced lift pump?

You said you bled the line all the way to the injector pump. Did you blead the injectors? I had to crack 1&3 to get the air out of the high pressure side before it would crank. Just crack them and spin it...it should spit fuel then crank. Tighten up and crank again. It will run rough for a bit then smooth out.

Yes, the return line is a bit difficult to get to. Don't know where else fuel could be coming from in that area either, but the return line.

Sorry,I left out some info.
When the truck quit, there was no power to the lift pump.I swapped the relay out and that got the pump running again. That's when I noticed this fuel leak.I'm thinking, the low fuel pressure light keeps coming on because of this leak at the return line.I pulled the line off last night and it seems ok.The banjo washers are crystalized though.Possibly, the leak is the bad banjo washers at the back of the head.
Would this leak cause a low fuel pressure type of problem ?? Possibly that the injection pump is pushing sooo much fuel that the lift pump won't keep up ??

Thanks again,Ragg

A leak in the return wouldnt cause low fuel pressure. Are you running a stock lift pump? You said you changed the relay to the lift pump, the stock lift pump has no relay.

Yeah,I put in a campaign pump last weekend. As far as the relay,it turns out the one I swapped was for the inj pump. The p/o had scabbed the harness at the pump, which,I have now fixed, and may have been the power issue at the lift pump.
I got the truck running last night.I had to "hot wire" the lift pump directly to the battery with a switch.I'm thinking that because the lift pump only gets 30% duty cycle at start up,that was the starting issue.
As far as the low fuel pressure light coming on,with the pump now hot wired to the battery, that is NOT a concern.I've litterally been running the bag off the truck since last night and the light hasn't even remotley wanted to glow.
I'm going to plug the pump back into the stock harness I fixed and see what that does tonight.
Thanks again for the advice guys.If it wasn't for you all,the truck probably would have mysteriously burned to the ground over the last few days.
