fuel mileage

I used to have a 12v which seemed to get alot better mileage. With my 01 i am only seeing like 14 mpg city and thats when im easy on it. Is that normal and what things can i do to increase mileage? It has exhaust and a drop in filter. I was hopin for like 17 or so, but my buddies 24 auto dually only gets 14 as well so....anyways what is your all average??

You should search this topic. There is this exact question that is like 14 pages long of nonsence and arguing, read that.

Mine is rarely much over 14 city. (24V automatic 2500 slt quad 98.5 125,000 miles). I get the fuel tank down to "fill-er-up" in the 350 to 400 mile range.I believe the standard transmission ones get a little better city mileage.

If I go 55 or 60 on the freeway, I'll usually get a little over 20, but not at 70 mph.

I don't know how many miles are on your truck, but at about 160K or so, my mpg had gone from around 20 overall to about 17 with just the EZ. A few weeks ago, I put a set of RV275's in and averaged 21.4 at mostly highway and 20.3 at about 60/40 hwy/city. My old injectors didn't look that bad......but I guess they were. This may not be your problem, but the injector change helped mine.
