Front Rotor Swap on a 99
Front Rotor Swap on a 99
I see where on the 2000+ 2nd gens can be upgraded to 3 gen breaks. My question is can you put a roto off the 2000+ on a 99 that has the rotor on the back of the hub? I really am not up for pulling the hub everytime I need to change the rotors. Thanks.
I do not believe you can change the 99 to a 2000 type, as your Ball joints hook to the axel differently than the 00 do and your caliper mounting brackets are fixed to the spindle and cannot be unbolted (I think)
Here is one thread, I cant find the other that goes into detail about the differences between the 2 types of brake set-ups

Thanks for the info. Think I will just go pay some one. Guess I could go buy a 200 rotor and see what I can engineer or screw up but finding time for that will take a while.
I had time to look at it there is a slim chance you can convert them to a 2000but will need someengineering. Will see what I can do and take some pics as i go. Just not sure about strenght yet.
