Front end issues

So from catching a glimpse of a few post I guess the front ends of our trucks are pretty weak.

I pull in my driveway with the wheels turning one way and pull out turning the wheels the other way. Every morning when I pull out I feel a little looseness and minor "clunking" in the front end right when I start to turn the wheels the other way.

What does this sound like, what do I need to look at replacing? Thanks.

i would look at u-joints or check your rotors. mine were missing pieces and cracked and had the exact same symptoms as you.

Sorry, I don't have a sig here. Mine's a 2WD and has brand new front brakes and rotors on.

Is there a common issue with the front ends that wear out that I can look at? Bushings in a certain location, ball joints? I can take it to the diesel shop but would rather try to DIY to save some $$$

Sounds like it could be anything really. Best way to narrow it down is jack up the front end and shake everything down, till ya can narrow it to what exactly is clunkin. Get under it and have someone slowly work the wheel back and forth and see if anything is popping. Then ya can pry under your wheels and see if ball joints are loose. Are your tires wearing funny? A worn tire can tell a lot about your front end.
