found my possible truck????
Went to look at a 99 ctd today..... very nice truck quadcab 4wd power seat, killer package. only 61000 miles engine looks clean, everything is! looked underneath motor for the killer 53 :-X there it was..... Now I have been looking for a while for my next truck and really like this truck,,, should the killer 53 scare me off or what... I was first looking for a 12v but a good one is hard to find over here in san diego. From what I read I dont know if i should be afraid of the lift pump of the 24v or if it is blown up bigger than what it really is. asking price is just under 22k, forgot to mention real nice alloys and brand new 35's. would appreciate any help or suggestions possibly tonite because am suppose to go back to car lot first thing in the mornin... Is this a good price? I know that is great miles for a truck a couple of years old .will get back asap.thanx this site rocks, very helpful!!!!!!!!!

Get it,as far as lift pumps go,there is a problem with it,but you can take care of that problem with an aftermarket lift pump. There is a fella here in texas that has the 53 block with almost 200000 miles on it.He pulls heavy stuff, from bulldozers on down and he has not had any problems with it.So go ahead and get the truck if it is as nice as you say.

One of my brothers has the 53 block in his 98.5 Ram. If the truck is nice, it wouldn't stop me fron buying it, but I would install a fuel pressure gauge. A lift pump is much cheaper to replace that VP44 inj pump. With the gauge you will not take out the inj pump.<br>John
