FASS DDRP inline filter

I am in the process of installing a FASS DDRP 02 on my 01 Dodge ram . It comes with a inline filter that you cut in but I can`t see where it should be cut in . The stainless line from the tank turns to what looks like some kind of black plastic line with a larger tube over it where it connects to the inlet on the pump . Do you cut the stainless or the black tubing that is enclosed with the larger tubing ? I`m sure it`s a dumb question , but it`s too dark to work on it now and I thought I would ask here .

On mine I used a peice of the blue fuel line from the outlet on the tank to the FASS pump and cut the filter into it where it is easily accessible from under the fender near the pump.

Then used the rest of the fuel line to run to the fitting on the main filter on the engine...

Kurt , I`m still a little confused . Is your pump mounted in the original position on the motor or back near the tank ? Mine was put back in the original position .

It's been a couple days since you made this thread, but if you are still wondering..

FASS says to install it within (I think) 8" of the DDRP. So you would cut the black plastic portion of the fuel lines.

Sorry LDoyle, mine is the one mounted at the tank. I kept getting the model designations confused!

On yours Kalvin00 is correct. There is a short portion of fuel line after the SS stops as it approaches the pump.

I completely removed the stock fuel line on mine and ran fuel hose all the way to the engine.

Well I guess I am just trying to make something harder than it is . I ran new line , but after removing the old line I saw I could have just cut it . Sometimes I tend to over think things . Thanks for the replys

I could have done the same, but wanted to keep the original fuel line in case I needed to return everything to stock, although I don't think I ever would...
