well i was told a couple days ago about this entire 53 block thing and ive been trying to find it on my engine...i dont think its imprinted on the block anywhere how ever i did find a sticker on a plate near the stock l/p..but the numbers on it are all faded off.....anyone know how i can tell other ways?

 

Casting on the lower side of the engine toward the front on the block.

 

think that all 53 block 99's have that kind of marking or what?

 

They all have it. Your just not looking hard enough. Driver's side, 3" behind crossmember. Don't get too caught up on having the 53 block. My old 98.5 had it, and never had an issue. Just keep an eye on the coolant, and take a look at your block now and then. Do a search for the 53 block as it has been discussed many, many, many times on this forum.

 

Also probably right behind a wire loom.
