Engine just died while driving.

In the worst possible location my truck just died while driving about 25 mph. Like a light switch. No start up. P1693 code. It sits at the dealer until morning when they can scan it. Any suggestions? Where would anyone look for a new VP if thats the culprit? I figure I'm going to install it myself but I dont know how hard its going to be either.

Just did mine this weekend and it is pretty straightforward swap. Make sure you have a gear puller. there is a thread somethwere with step by step video.
Good luck

When my VP died it was in a similar manner, just cut out while running. Then would crank but not start. There is a method to check by cracking the injector lines loose at the head and crank it, look for fuel to come out of the lines, though I am not sure if you are supposed to look at certain lines. I'm sure someone who knows for sure can chip in.
