emergancy/parking brake adjustment
hey guys, today i noticed my parking brake needs adjusting really bas as it does NOT hold the truck when on a slight incline/decline. i was wondering if you guys could tell me whats all involved with and needed to adjust the parking brake so i dont have to worry about it rolling and needing to put it in gear and hoping it holds.

I don't know if this applies to disc brake models or not, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Make sure the shoes are adjusted properly in the rear. Too much space between the shoes and the drum part of the rotor, and it won't hold. While you're there, see if theres an axle seal leak. That too will cause poor holding power. If everything checks out back there, check your e-brake cables under the cab. There are adjustable take ups on the cables, and they may have become loose, or out right fallen off. If you see a crimp in the cable, thats where an adjuster was/should be. Thats the boat I'm in right now. We'll see what the dealers want for those on Monday.

I got this cover on my web page...
http://www.frontiernet.net/~mopar1973man/e-brake.htm
No hard to do... This applies to all 2001.5 and on up (disc brake rears)... Anything before 2001.5 is going to be drum brakes.
