Quick question, could a ecm from a 2001 24 valve be compatible with a 1999 24 valve? The trans are both autos and I really dont want to spend 1000 bucks for a new one, thanks in advance, anything helps

 

I'm pretty sure this won't work becasue they changed the systems so many times thru 2002....You should get the cpl # off your engine tag and your vin and try to see if they are compatible....

As said earlier, check your engine data plate., in those years, there were also different types of ecm connections used, and different pin out configurations. Back to no magic answer, you'll have to do some homework

 

I checked several auto salvage yards online until I found an identical match (identical...year, engine, tran, etc) rig as mine. Both the ECM & PCM were purchased and worked perfect when I installed them. No reflash or anything was needed...they worked right off the get go. Once you try to mix and match ECM's it's a guessing game. Might work but probably not...at least not without a re-flash. Good luck.
