drop the tank or lift the bed?

If you take the bed off you might as well clean up the frame rails and paint them, that's what I did when I switched the flatbed for a dually bed. It also gave me a chance to primer and paint the bottom of the bed where is sits on the frame, figured might as well try to slow down the rust since I will be keeping my truck for many years! thats my 2 cents, good luck with whatever you do.

Cut a hole in the box so you can access it, you will have to replace the fuel pump sooner or later. Then throw a bed liner in and go

well i got the bed off.. and the cap that holds the pickup assem. on was real loose, and the sending unit was gone....later to be found in the bottom of the tank and it looks like the screan on the bottom is kinda dirty too so i dunno what im gonna do.
i work with a guy that worked at a dealership and i'll see if he can give advice on what to do
